Creating and producing film, television and music is my work and passion. As a child, I was either shooting 8mm film or making music. This love of creating stuck with through school where I studied Radio, Television and Motion Pictures at the University of North Carolina.
Adam Reist’s career in the entertainment industry has spanned over two and a half decades. He brings a wealth of creative experience and expertise from his film and video production work on projects ranging from documentaries to short films to television commercials and more. Adam founded and is Director/Editor of the video production company, Dare to Be Films. He is also President and Creative Director of Coastline Pictures. At Coastline Pictures he has directed numerous projects ranging from documentaries to television commercials, for clients such as "The Color Purple" and the 2016 Tony Award winning musical “Hamilton”.
He directed and co-produced the women’s rowing documentary Dare to Be which was released in 2017, as well as the critically acclaimed and award winning short films Supertalk, starring Kathleen Chalfant and Billy Crudup, and Back to One.
From 2004 to 2009, he was a Director on CBS's daytime drama Guiding Light. Prior to that, Adam worked as a Stage Manager on Guiding Light, Another World, ESPN, The Madison Square Garden Network and Telemundo. His career accolades include being a member of the 2004 DGA Award winning Outstanding Drama Series Directing team and 1994 Daytime Emmy winner for Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team. Adam is a member of the Directors Guild of America and The University of North Carolina’s Order of the Golden Fleece.
When Adam isn't creating visually, you'll find him pursuing his other passion, singing and playing lead guitar for the NY-based band, Twist of Fate.
